| My original POW/MIA bracelet was purchased in or around 1972 when I was in high school and was also for Captain Dean P. St Pierre. Like many folks, I actively protested the Vietnam War, but I also fiercely supported our military men and women and continue to do so today. | | |

In response to the attacks on September 11th, on October 7, 2001, the United States and its
allies began Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), also known as the War in
Afghanistan. The purpose of sending military troops was to conduct strikes against
al Qaeda training camps and the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
On June 30, 2009, US Army soldier Bowe R. Bergdahl, 23, of Hailey, Idaho, went missing from his base in eastern Afghanistan. On July 3rd, his status was

captured. A second video was released on December 25, 2009, again showing him
in captivity. On April 7, 2010, the Taliban released a third video of Bergdahl
in captivity. In the Aug-Sept time frame of 2011, he escaped from his captures but was recaptured in three days. At the time of his capture, Bergdahl's rank was Private First
