In
the 1970's, we wore Prisoner of War (P.O.W.) bracelets bearing the
name of a POW or MIA. We did this to keep this person in our hearts and
minds, even if we did not know them personally. We proudly wore
these bracelets, and some still do, as a symbol of hope that the
P.O.W.'s and M.I.A.'s would return to their families alive.
Today,
we also keep others in our memories... Victims of Terrorism and Military Casualties.
To keep the memory alive of those who have died at the hands of
terrorists or are fighting terrorism, we now also wear Memorial
Bracelets™. By wearing a Memorial Bracelet™, we show our patriotism and offer
our moral and financial support to the families of these Victims
and Heroes of Terrorism.
$2.00 from the sale of each bracelet is donated to charities
that
support the families of the heroes and victims of terrorism.

In
addition to other victims, two Americans have been kidnapped and
beheaded. One in Iraq and the other in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Victims
of Terrorism in 2003
There
were 82 anti-US attacks in 2003, which is up slightly from the 77
attacks the previous year.
Thirty-five
American citizens died in 15 international terrorist attacks in 2003.
The
deadliest anti-US attack occurred in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on 12 May
when suicide bombers in boobytrapped cars filled with explosives drove
into the Vinnell Jadewel and Al-Hamra housing compounds, killing nine
US citizens.

Victims
of Terrorism in 2002
The
number of anti-US attacks was 77, down 65% from the previous years
total of 219. The main reason for the decrease was the sharp drop
in oil pipeline bombings in Colombia (41 last year, compared to 178
in 2001). In 2002 thirty US citizens were killed in terrorist attacks.
The
worst terrorist attack since September 11 occurred on 12 October at
a resort in Bali, Indonesia, when a car bomb exploded in a busy tourist
area filled with nightclubs, cafes, and bars. The attack killed over
200 persons from two-dozen nations. Seven US citizens died.

Victims
of Terrorism in 2001
September
11, 2001 - The worst international terrorist attack everinvolving
four separate but coordinated aircraft hijackingsoccurred
in the United States on September 11, 2001. More than 3,000 persons
were killed in these attacks.
American
Airlines Flight 11 with 81 passengers and 11 crew en route from
Boston to Los Angeles was hijacked and flown into the north tower
of the World Trade Center.

United
Airlines Flight 175 with 56 passengers and 9 crew en route from
Boston to Los Angeles was hijacked and flown into the south tower
of the World Trade Center.

American
Airlines Flight 77 with 58 passengers and 6 crew en route from Washington
Dulles to Los Angeles was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon.

United
Airlines Flight 93 with 38 passengers and 7 crew en route from Newark
to San Francisco, was hijacked and crashed into a field in Somerset
County, Pennsylvania.

The
World Trade Center collapsed when American Airlines Flight 11 was
hijacked and crashed into the north tower and United Airlines Flight
175 was hijacked and crashed into the south tower.

Parts
of the Pentagon collapsed when American Airlines Flight 77 was hijacked
and crashed into it.

In
addition to the acts of September 11th, 4 additional acts of terrorism
claimed the lives of 8 Americans around the world, and mail contaminated
with spores of Bacillus anthracis was sent to the media and senators
causing 5 deaths due to inhalation Anthrax.

Victims
of Terrorism in 2000
Four
separate terrorist events claimed 21 American lives in 2000. The most
significant occurred when a bomb tore through the hull of the USS
Cole while the destroyer was refueling in the port of Aden, Yemen
killing 17 people serving in the United States Navy.*

*The
people serving on the USS Cole are listed as Victims of Terrorism
because noncombatants, that is, civilians and military personnel
who at the time of the incident are unarmed and/or not on duty engaging
the enemy, are judged as terrorist attacks victims.
