Vietnam War (POW) Prisoners of War
The United States sent Army troops to Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia from 1959 to 1973 to help South Vietnam fight the Vietcong rebels and communist North Vietnamese invading their country. Out of respect for families still looking for loved ones, soldiers currently and formerly listed as POW but changed to Killed in Action/Body Not Recovered (KIA/BNR) by the U.S. Government are still listed in this section as POWs until their remains are recovered and returned.
